The change of the centuries was the time of assumptions and personal contacts with film. For these years, we have not found any traces of screening or filming activities. Yet, this fact does not exclude completely the possibility of the presence of film in these areas. Macedonia has always been a crossroads to many roads and travelers. In this period a railroad line was built. It increased the frequency of traffic and made travelling easier. So, it is very possible that a cinematographer, or more likely some travelling projectionists, visited Macedonia at that time, considering that it was done in 1897. There is an even greater possibility that personal contacts with film took place. At the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century, Macedonia was overcome by a wave of economic emigration. Crowds of people left for the United States, Romania, France and other countries. It is possible that our emigrants have seen there the miracles of the living pictures. From the very beginning, the film was a cheap entertainment held in taverns, under tents and other places of easy access.
