The fourth session of the second season of the FILM CLASSROOM project took place on November 20 (Saturday) at the Cinematheque. This session was dedicated to the film on 35mm tape. In the first part of the FILM CLASSROOM, the film and television director MarijaDzidzeva introduced the participants to the process of creating a film story from the idea to its realization. Through a series of examples visually presented with projections of inserts from a dozen different films from different periods, authors, styles and genres, Dzidzeva spoke about film story ideas that can be inspired by news in the media, events in ordinary life, literature…
From news in the black media chronicles to literary templates that have been screened in cult films, such as Stanislav Lem’s novel Solaris and Andrei Tarkovsky’sSOLARIS, or 2001: A Space Odyssey by screenwriter Arthur Clarke and the director Stanley Kubrick.
Thirty students from Tetovo schools also participated in this FILM CLASSROOM. The philologist-advisor Igor Stardelov and the philologist ArsimLeskovica introduced the students with the activity of the Cinematheque, the way in which the national audiovisual wealth is stored and the conditions in the depots, the process of restoration and digitalization of the films…
Stardelov introduced the students to the secrets of cinematography created on the classic film tape from the nitrate and celluloid era with the lecture entitled “The Taste of Film”.

In the second part of the FILM CLASSROOM, the participants had the opportunity to see a film projected on the slightly forgotten 35 mm tape and from the once very popular genre in the repertoire of domestic cinemas. It is about the film A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS(1964, 99 min., Color, 35 mm) by Sergio Leone, the cousin of the so-called “Spaghetti Western”, a separate and extra popular subgenre on all the meridians of the world.The films refer to the classic American Western, but are mostly shot in Italy, in Italian, dubbed in English.A Fistful of Dollars is part of the trilogy which includes For a Few Dollars More(Per qualchedollaroin più /1965, 132 min.) and, probably the most famous, The GOOD, BAD AND UGLY (Il buono, ilcattivo / 1966, 178 min.), with Clint Eastwood in his iconic role as the mysterious revolver.
Students from Skopje high schools who are participants in the FILM CLASSROOM under the mentorship of film and TV director MarijaDzidzeva through ten sessions, which are held every Saturday, have the opportunity to learn the basics of film history and film language, to watch films from the archive of Cinematheque, to analyze film works, and through the sessions of the FILM CLASSROOM to create short film etudes, which they then analyze together.This educational project is supported by the Ministry of Culture.
