Besides the war operations of the Macedonian front, a great number of sequences were filmed showing the life of the civilians.<\/P>
Due to the front nature of this war, the life of the towns far from the front line was rather normal, so that film screening in the film theaters of Macedonia continued during the war. So, in 1916, the German army and its travelling cinemas held film screenings in Prilep (in the long front yard of the Seskolenov family), in Veles (in the St.Kiril and Metodi School), and also in the villages of Lisolaj (near Bitola) and Rajca (near Resen). In the same year, in Skopje, in the shack of the wood-carver Nestor Aleksiev, the Balkans Theater, owned by the photographer from Skopje Siljan Karaginovic started operating. This film theater operated only for few months. In Prilep, October 1917, \"The Progres Cinema\" was opened owned by the family of Napeski, in their old family house. At the first screening, the film \"The Lady with Camellias\" was shown, and also a German newsreel titled \"The Appearance of Prilep\". At the end of 1918, the seat of the Serbian military film section was in Skopje, and having several projectors, they organized film screenings both for soldiers and civilians. In the same year, the first film projections were held in Strumica, while in Shtip, occasional screenings were held in the garden of the \"Prolet Caffe\". In Bitola, two new cinemas were opened. The returnee from America, Lazo from the village of Capari, opened a cinema at his \"America Hotel\", while Kosta and Dimitar Chomu, opened a cinema at the \"Solun Hotel\".
